MISSION AND OUTREACH:
Each congregation in the United Church of Canada is encouraged to actively participate in supporting mission and outreach work here in Canada and in partnership with other organizations throughout the world. Both Sauble Beach United and St Andrew’s in Hepworth work together to raise funds for mission work here in Canada which could be supporting a downtown food bank or assisting with funds for disaster relief. The monies raised in Canada by the United Church are in excess of 32 million to provide leadership training for new ministers; help for those in need, those suffering illness around the world. More information about the work of Mission and Outreach fund is available on the United Church of Canada web site www.united-church.ca. The United Church publication entitled the Mandate outlines how the church is serving in various parts of the world.
Between our two local churches our commitment is over $22,000 each year to Mission and Outreach work. Monthly the congregation becomes more aware of the many ways the Church is serving others through the Minute for Missions reading of a real success story of our mission dollars at work.
Sauble Beach United has supported the Canadian Foodgrains Bank for over 10 years by planting crops on the 6 acres of land behind and beside the Church. The money raised is matched four to one by the Federal government to support feeding the poor in third world countries.

Special thanks for the personal touch given in making up gift bags for the Christmas Hampers and the food for the food drive.“
MISSION AND SERVICE partners are currently responding to those who are impacted by the conflict
in West Bank and East Jerusalem. Partners are prepared to expand their activity into Gaza when a
humanitarian corridor is opened, allowing for safe access to provide relief. Currently, there is an
urgent need for food, as well as non-food items such as medicines, psychosocial support, and
shelter. The Canadian government is matching donations for up to a maximum of $10
million made to members of the Humanitarian Coalition. Your gifts made to this appeal
between October 7th and November 12, 2023 can be doubled.
